About
I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of Virginia, completing a major in Psychology with a minor in African American Studies. After graduation, I am looking to get involved in research opportunities assessing risk and prevention associated with adolescent psychopathology. After gaining more research experience, I plan on entering a Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program pursuing research that addresses how we can promote resilience in adversity-exposed adolescents by understanding the neurobehavioral mechanisms associated with adolescent psychopathology. I plan to employ functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to examine brain structures that may inform emotional detachment and how activation in these areas differs in adversity-exposed adolescents.
